The Mid Wales social enterprise Cwm Harry aims to demonstrate that we can create a circular economy where resources are used again and again. At its Newtown base, Cwm Harry collect and compost food waste and grow more food. Cwm Harry also manage the award winning Zero Waste Presteigne pilot.
The visit will cover the site operations: - food waste collection scheme for 13,000 home in Powys - food waste composting to PAS 100 standard - growing food locally in permaculture community garden, - the veggie bag scheme, It will also include a briefing on the Zero Waste Service at Presteigne and Norton where residents have achieved a 75% recycling rate and substantial reduction in waste generation.
